Calling all Micky Slim 'sound-alikes'

During my time photographing DJ's, I came across a talented, non-conformist, DJ named Michael Mcneice a.k.a. Micky Slim. For a long time I have been trying to find some live sets of the guy, but that is turning to be harder than it sounds. After digging up a live set of Micky at Global Gathering in Russia 2008, of which the quality left much to be desired, I thought I would just post my request here. If you know of any DJ's similar to Micky Slim, please leave me a message.

Darth Vader calls Apple about his iPhone 4 antenna

Funny skit by Russell Arch about Darth Vader calling Apple Support.

“Look, just level with me: it’s AT&T isn’t it? If it is just cough or something. I got them in range right outside the [Death Star] window here. I can vaporize them like that and you could be on the phone with verizon within 2 seconds.”

Dancing in the Rain

After many days of hot and muggy weather, the skies broke open and rained... and rained... not for 40 days, but at least 2 full hours.

Time to go and cool down, splash around with the kids and enjoy the rain!

Soldats de Plomb

To cheer up this already bright and sunny day, here in the Netherlands, I thought I would share a fantastically created movie that I found on Vimeo.

The movie, titled Soldats de Plomb (meaning 'Toy Soldiers'), was created by Alta media Productions using a Canon 7D and 5DmkII.

The movie shows troops in Paris preparing for a parade, most like Bastille Day or La Fête Nationale as it is known to the French. The parade is mostly military and as this video will show, a lot of preperation is involved.

The technique used in the video is called tilt/shift using Canon's TS-E lenses (24 and 90mm) in combination with a low FPS (Canon 5DmkII is 3.5fps, jpg small).
